Everything is home made... Well not the cheese but that was grated by us as well!
Ingredients for Dough:
- 1 cup of Flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of water
Ingredients for Meatballs:
- one pound of ground beef
- one egg
- Italian seasoning
- salt
- bread crumbs
- one garlic clove
Ingredients for Pasta Sauce:
- One green Pepper chopped
- One red Pepper chopped
- One yellow onion chopped
- two garlic cloves
- two cans of tomato paste
- one can of diced tomatoes
- salt to taste
Directions for dough:
- In a bowl combine flour and salt
- make a "well" or hole in the dough and add a
beaten egg
- mix together with your hands
- Add water as needed
- On a floured surface knead the dough for about 4
minutes
- Wrap dough in saran wrap for about an hour to bring the
dough to room temp.
- Put a pot of water on to boil
- we have a machine to flatten and cut the dough:
- if you don’t you would use a rolling pinned (floured)
to roll the dough into the desired thickness
- then cut into strips
- Add the striped dough to the boiling water
- remove dough when its floating (About 5 minutes
sometimes less)
- When all dough has been cooked add back to water to
heat up and strain
Directions for meatballs
- In a bowl mix meat, egg, salt, garlic, and seasoning
- mix in bread crumbs
- preheat oven to 350 degrees
- roll meat into one inch balls and place on a cookie
sheet
- cook until the meat balls are brown on the outside
- add meatballs to pasta sauce
Directions for pasta sauce
- in a pan add all ingredients
- keep stiring until desired temperature
- add in meatballs
Serve in a bowl grate fresh parmesan cheese and enjoy!
