I am not sure how to put this because it falls under both.

Pintrest has taken do it your self gift to an extreme.  Two years ago I stumbled upon the Mason Jar cookies and gave them away as gifts. I dont have my own pictures any more as that computer crashed. But here we go:

Find a cookie recipe, I will use Chocolate Chip Cookies cause thats always an easy go to

  • 1/2 teaspoon on salt
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips

Print or write on paper for the directions and what else is needed:
Needed to finish cookies:
  • 1 cup of butter or Margrine softened

Directions:
  • Preheat Oven 375 degrees
  • In a large bowl mix butter or margrine vanilla and egg
  • stir in jar mixture
  • make 1 inch round balls placing on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes
  • Let cool for a couple minutes then remove from cookie sheet placing on a wire rack

Alright But now for the Mason Jars!!!

  • In a large bowl mix together flour, baking soda, salt.
  • Add mixture to jar filling about 1/3 of the way.
  • Add chocolate chips on top of that
  • Add the brown sugar on top of that
  • Pack down using a spoon
  • Add the rest of the white mixture
  • Close the jar

You can choose to add the rest of the ingrediants and directions to the top of the lid by cutting the paper to fit the inside of the mason jar lid. You can creats a card and have the information inside of it.
There are a lot of different variations for this part of it.  I created a card similar to this:

Now decorate that jar!!! This is where the fabric and ribbon comes in!
Here are some fun ways to decorate:

Have fun!!!
